My Story

My name is Amelia Rhodes AKA Story Girl. I have been married to The Narrator for over a decade and together we have two little characters – Little Miss Sunshine and T-Rex. We do have a few unnamed fish who won’t show up here unless they take a leap of death and are eaten by the T-Rex, which is all very possible in this household.

When I was in college, storytelling was my favorite class. A professional storyteller visited our class once and wove a captivating tale about some turtles that worked together as a team. Her presentation was vivid. I love oral presentation and have often thought about volunteering to tell stories at the library. I grew up on the stage, and I miss seeing the lights turn on in an audience during a great story. Until then, I am very happy to just share my stories via the keyboard. I know that my little stories are just a piece of the Great Love Story that the Master Storyteller is weaving. It’s exciting to look for pieces of the Great Love Story within my story. I do my best to keep my eyes open for those moments. Sometimes I forget while washing dishes and folding laundry to do that, but then an obvious jewel will glisten (oh wait, that was the diamond I lost from my engagement ring….I wish), and I remember all over again what it was like to first Fall in Love.
