The new story

October 18th, 2007

I’m sure you’re all wondering why the big switch and all the anonymity, since in fact, you have all been hand selected (congratulations) and obviously already know who I am since you followed me from the previous story.

I had been re-thinking my world of blogging for a few months, and as a result I had been publishing less and less and censoring myself more and more. It wasn’t very fun. I kept hearing via third parties about “all the people” who read my previous story, and honestly, I didn’t like that anymore. It was fun while it lasted, but I wanted a little more privacy in my life for the time being. My main purpose in blogging from the beginning had been simply to share the fun stories of daily life that really only family and friends would even care about. Then it grew. The nature of the web (as I know so well since The Narrator IS the web!) is that it is very public. Anyone can read. Anyone can lurk. I do it all the time. There wasn’t any one event to cause my switch. I didn’t received any threatening emails or messages or stalkers or anything to cause me any sort of fear. I just wanted privacy. So here I am. And here you are.

So why the anonymity since I am making all of you register and login? Because someday, maybe in a year or so, I’ll go public again, but anonymously as Story Girl. I’d like all my regulars to get into the routine of anonymity (so I’ll edit your comment if you forget and use our real names). And I’d like to take this time to re-figure out who I am as a blogger and what my story is before I go public again. Thanks for joining me through the pages.
